About
Thank you for your interest in Greater Heights United Methodist Church.
The atmosphere at Greater Heights is relaxed and the dress is casual. You will find a varied range of styles from shorts to “business casual” dress.
When you arrive at Greater Heights, we have free Starbucks coffee and hot cocoa available for everyone in our lobby. Please enjoy while you are with us. Our greeters will welcome you in and can show you around if you would like.
Because we are a new congregation that is still fleshing out exactly what God wants us to be, the service is in flux and things may, or may not, change. One thing that will never change is that we want to praise the living God in an exciting and relevant way! We hope families will be challenged and leave differently than how they came. Our order of service usually contains prayer, welcome, and a positive message with music surrounding it all.
We meet for Celebration on Sunday mornings at 11:00am.
Being a Congregation that Makes Difference: We hope you leave with more than a warm feeling and a song in your heart—we hope you leave different than how you came. We want to challenge everyone to live out the message you heard and to share Christ’s love with everyone you meet.
We are not a religious congregation: Every time the Bible talks about being religious, it speaks about it as a negative. God doesn’t want us to have religion, but to have a relationship with Him.
A word about the offering to our first time guests: Taking an offering to God is a regular and important part of our worship of God; however, if you are a first time guest, please don’t feel obligated to put any money in the offering plate. This service is our gift to you.
Warning: We do not encourage perfect people to attend GHUMC…they make us nervous.
Please be yourself in worship: Sing loud, or just stand and smile. Wave your arms, or sit on your hands. God wants the real you to worship Him as you are in “Spirit and truth” (John 4:23).
What we Believe
At Greater Heights, we believe that Jesus was the Son of God, the child of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit, truly God and truly Man, who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven. He is the eternal Savior and Mediator, who intercedes for us and by Him all persons will be judged.
Our Vision
We seek to form a community of disciples that will be loyal to Jesus Christ in a world that is not always in sympathy with the purposes of God.
Our Mission
We seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ who are seeking to know him intimately and to obey His word joyfully.
